Policy #3 - Remuneration - Effective 2023-09-19

PURPOSE 

The purpose of this policy is to set rates for the remuneration of on ice officials and minor officials of the Timmins Ringette Association.

PROCEDURE 

Annually, the Board of Directors must amend this policy to set the rates of remuneration for game officials in the upcoming paying season.

IMPLEMENTATION 

1. The Board will solicit input from the Managers on recommended rates for the upcoming season

2. The Treasurer will be the primary point of contact for the Board

3. The Treasurer will submit a recommendation to the Board for consideration

4. Rates of remuneration for the upcoming season must be set no later than July 1 of each year giving the Managers sufficient time to recruit members to their roles

5. The rates will be entered into the Officials Assigning system to allow for accurate payroll production

APPLICATION OF RATES 

1. Rates of remuneration will be applied on a per game basis

2. Rates of remuneration will be established for the following:

   • Regular Full Game (One Hour Ice Time)

     • On Ice Official

       • First year official

       • Senior Official

       • Referee In Chief

     • Game Clock Operator

     • Shot Clock Operator

   • 3 - On - 3 Game

     • On Ice Officials

     • Game Clock Operator

     • Shot Clock Operator

3. The rates of remuneration may be affected in the following manner:

   • In the case where an on ice official works a game alone then the rate will be doubled

   • In the case where the game clock and the shot clock are operated by the same person then that person will receive the remuneration for both functions

   • Where a game is cancelled with less than 3-hour notice then the officials will be compensated for that game

REMUNERATION RATES 

1. Rates of remuneration for the 2023-2024 season shall be established as follows:

• Regular Full Game (One Hour Ice Time)

  • On Ice Official

    • First year official - $25 per game

    • Senior official - $30 per game

    • Referee-In-Chief - $30 per game

  • Game Clock Operator - $15 per game

  • Shot Clock Operator - $15 per game

• 3 - On - 3 Game

  • On Ice Officials

    • First year official - $20 per game

    • Second year official - $20 per game

    • Third year and more official - $20 per game

  • Game Clock Operator - $10 per game

  • Shot Clock Operator - $10 per game
